READ THIS BEFORE PACKING TO YOUR EUROPE TRIP

Are you excited to travel around Europe?

Great! Let’s get going with the first step

PACKING!

Packing a small cabin bag to travel around might be a challenge for many people; here are some tips on how to pack light before hitting the road.

1. Pack for 5 days even if you are away for 2 weeks

I know you might want to be stylish and would like to change many outfits while traveling, you can still do that even if you don’t pack that excessive amount of clothes (which 70% of the time you will bring back home without putting them on).

Pack a 5-day trip bag, you might need one or 2 extra tops. Because:

  • Most of the time, people tend to buy a new piece of clothing from their destination after 3 or 4 days of their trip, meaning you won’t run out of clothes.

  • Europe has many shops, oh no not many, a massive amount of shops and cheap ones, even when I went to Milan and Geneva, I managed to buy sweaters for €8 and shoes for less than €20, and you always enjoy buying some nice clothes from Europe especially if you find Primark in your way. (shops suggestions are below)

2. Pack 3 pieces that you can throw away

I had tons of pajamas and dozens of t-shirts which I don’t even wear most of the days. When traveling get one of these pajamas with you, that you can actually throw away after using them in your trip and some of the t-shirts which are everyday use, trust me you won’t need fancy clothes every minute of your trip, sometimes you just want to put this t-shirt on and go grab a chips from the supermarket or go for breakfast in the hotel.

Pack these pieces with you for 2 reasons:

  • Not to overpack; when they take up some space you don’t over pack other outfits.

  • Pack the new pieces of clothing you bought from your destination instead.

3. Use small toiletry containers

They are not only very useful but very cute to pack and have in your way and allowed on board the plane (up to 100ml the container)

Make sure to pack the necessary ones, which you use every day, you might get excited and say ‘I will have a face treatment in the vacation’ or ‘I will start using this kind of oil on my hair’, but if you don’t use this item in your everyday life, you will NOT use it on a trip in Europe.

And yes, pack those toiletries, if you are traveling for a long time and they get empty then consider buying new ones.

Lastly, take toothpaste! Every time I travel with a group, most people don’t have toothpaste, I don’t know why they think this item is the most space consuming, but everyone relies on the other to bring it. Just get your own, because when you arrive at your accommodation, usually the last thing you want to do is find a supermarket to buy toothpaste.

4. Pack what you usually wear, not what you never put on

I know this dress or this shirt might really look good in photos while on a vacation even though you never wore them back home, but they won’t feel comfortable, you will keep avoiding them even while traveling until you buy a newer piece or just get stuck with it the last day when all your clothes are dirty.

Just pack what you are comfortable in.

MY FAVORITE PRACTICAL SHOPS IN EUROPE

These are in my opinion the most  affordable and for everyone stores

Primark: Check if it is in the city you are in, there are no Primark stores in Budapest for example

T.K. Maxx : also check the stores' availability

C&A: Awesome for emergencies and fast needs, has good discounts too

And of course many other international brands and local shops
